Responsibilities:
Lead substation projects for FERC 1000 RFPs and Early Stage Diligence Projects.
Collaborate with the Early-Stage Project Manager to define engineering requirements and scope during the conceptual phase.
Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers to ensure compliance with RFPs, agreements, and industry standards (IEEE, NESC, ASCE).
Manage engineering consulting resources, including scope development, bidding, and selection of suppliers through the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group.
Support substation site development and secure necessary permits and updates for design and construction.
Source and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services, and assist the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
Ensure coordination across teams to ensure project success, including regular updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Oversee major material orders to prevent delays and budget overruns; assist ISC with creating and reviewing project SOWs and preparing shopping carts.
Support E&C Estimating with template updates, project feedback, and technical support.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish priorities, plans, and scope.
Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with industry standards and internal processes.
Contribute to technical RFP narratives and support Legal in regulatory filings or hearings.
Work with component OEMs to adapt designs to NEER�s standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor�s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
7+ years of experience in high-voltage substation design and engineering; HVDC experience a plus.
Project Engineering or Project Management experience, with a strong bias for action.
PMP or P.E. certification preferred.
Some North American travel required. Potential for remote work but will need to travel to site quarterly
