Job Title: Medium Voltage / High Voltage Electrician
Location: MSAB Air Base, Jordan
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000
**MUST have Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment**
Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Medium Voltage / High Voltage Electrician to work at MSAB Air Base in Jordan. The successful candidate will report to the Power Plant Supervisor and must have extensive experience in MV/HV electrical distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on routine inspections, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and corrective/emergency repairs on power plant MV distribution systems and apparatus.
- Diagnose problems and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
- Maintain power production electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary systems of power generation facilities operating at 5-85MW with diesel-driven prime movers.
- Operate and maintain medium voltage switchgear systems, including local and remote monitoring, SCADA, PLC control systems, and alarm response to ensure maximum system reliability.
- Inspect operational activities for safety precautions and instruct employees on occupational hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, regulations, OSHA, and NFPA requirements.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in maintaining the technical library and record-keeping.
- Oversee facility custodianship of the work area, hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
- Participate in department communications activities and attend meetings.
- Identify and manage department risks and develop work plans to mitigate them.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding power generation/distribution equipment breakdowns and MV electrical distribution system outages.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician with MV/HV electrical experience.
- Experience with voltages of 4160, 11, and 13kV.
- Knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and NFPA70E.
- Current training in electrical safety based on NFPA 70E standards.
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, MV testing devices, and measuring equipment.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Must pass medical screening prior to deployment.
- Must have verified Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment.
Work Environment:
- Work in an international environment with potential exposure to arid climatic conditions.
- Scheduled work hours up to 72 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with synchronized diesel power generators, SCADA systems, and PLC controls.
- Training teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of fault finding and rectifying in underground distribution networks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive nature.
