We are actively looking for a Transmission Specialist to join one of our top utilities in the US.
Responsibilities:
Implementation of the Customer's Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers
Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
Check method statements for electrical matters
Provide technical advice to working parties for electrical matters
Assist different departments when required
Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required
Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipment if required
Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects

Qualifications/Requirements:
Appropriate electrical qualification and background
Ability to complete GWO courses and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit 120kg/264lb)
Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high-voltage electricity
Minimum 1-3 years of working experience within onshore substations systems
Knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear
Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out or specific switching, tagging and isolation procedures
Knowledge in switching and isolation of HV/MV/LV equipment
Ability to read and decipher electrical drawing schematics
Flexibility to work/live offshore for extended periods
Knowledge in Microsoft Applications
Flexibility to travel for work locations
Knowledge or certification in OSHA 10, NFPA 70e and NESC standards
