Airswift is seeking a Substation Construction Manager for a 10-12 month contract assignment, with the potential for extension, to support our Utilities client in Wheatley, Arkansas.
Job Description
As the Substation Construction Manager, you will oversee the construction of a new substation from the
ground up. While you will not physically be building the substation, your primary role will be to manage and
supervise the contractors responsible for construction activities. Your responsibilities will include coordinating
with various project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and monitoring construction
progress to meet project deadlines.
You will be expected to manage the construction process, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring all
work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. Although renewable energy
experience is not required, a strong background in substation construction is essential. Once this project is
completed, there is the potential to transition to other projects in different locations.
Key Responsibilities:
� Oversee and manage the construction of a substation, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget,
and quality standards.
� Coordinate with contractors and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient construction
operations.
� Monitor construction progress and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
� Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and project specifications.
� Conduct regular site inspections and provide updates on project status to management.
� Prepare and review project documentation, including construction schedules, progress reports, and
contractor performance evaluations.
� Travel as needed within North America to support project needs.
Required Qualifications:
� Proven experience in substation construction management, with a strong understanding of the
construction process from start to finish.
� Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple contractors and ensure the timely
completion of projects.
� Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various
stakeholders.
� Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to substation construction.
� Willingness to travel as required to support project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
� Previous experience in renewable energy projects is a plus, but not required.
� Proficiency with industry-standard project management tools and software.
� PMP certification or other relevant credentials in construction management is highly desirable.
