A Talascend client is seeking a Traffic Engineer-Sr. Engineer for a Direct Hire role. You may occasionally need to go to the office. Must be within driving distance to any of the following locations: Pomona, CA, Fresno, CA, Oakland (Bay Area), CA, Irvine, CA, and Los Angeles, CA.
Job Summary:
The Traffic Engineer applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. This position uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments. Working on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features is also a key factor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
CAD Design: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for rail infrastructure and other related components.
Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of rail design principles to solve complex engineering challenges. This includes developing detailed construction cost estimates and project specifications.
Technical Support: Collaborate with rail engineers to provide technical support in the development of rail projects, ensuring design meets quality and client standards.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data relevant to rail projects.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with design requirements.
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure designs are error-free and meet client standards.
Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior engineers and designers, providing guidance and support to promote their professional growth.
Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
8+ years prior experience needed
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree or equivalent
Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
Experience producing drawings with CAD software
Experience leading technical discipline team
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
Professional Engineer (PE)
Traffic Engineer (TE) is Preferred
Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments
Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
Prepare proposals to provide professional services
