Purpose: To create, check and approve overhead line design services, focusing on technical excellence, right first time while utilizing the expertise and team within our clients to deliver. To coach, mentor and develop less experienced engineer to improve the overall services, capability, and capacity within our client.

Experience

o Sufficient experience in the design and drafting process of high voltage powerlines
o Team Management limitations identification
o Understanding or design risks and CDM
o Task duration forecasting and Program development.
o Commercial understanding of risk and reward
o Customer management
o Building a competent team to deliver

Qualifications

o Engineering Degree
o Professional Engineer License

Activity

o To coach, mentor and provide industry expertise for delivery of the companys services.
o Share knowledge, train, and develop others.
o Develop best practice and ensure right first time for less senior engineers.
o Be responsible for curating overhead line design and construction solutions in line with CDM regulations.
o Be proficient in the planning, production and checking of suitable design analysis, reporting and output documentation in line with a customer's scope of works.
o Develop suitable tasks for suitably experienced and skilled team members to deliver.
o Use industry standard software, backed up with first principals engineering skills with the ability to produce and check outputs using a range of techniques.
o Manage, deliver and critique detailed technical documentation to industry standards for the benefit of the customer considering areas of electrical clearances, geology, structural utilization, maintenance, construction, and temporary works (non-exhaustive)
o Plan and check targeted reports in line with a customers technical knowledge and understanding.
o Develop and manage budgets ensuring time allocations are well known, documented, monitored, and reported regularly and accurately.

Key Tasks

o To produce, check and approve design outputs in line with statutory and industry specific standards and best practice guidance documentation.
o Be responsible for the delivery of complex projects identifying areas of risk to the company and customers prior to commencement.

o Design outputs, right first time, through checking and approving others designs using first principals and software (PLS CADD PLS TOWER)
o To provide accurate estimations to the tendering team to enable work winning.
