Experienced Manual Machinist - Ship Repair & Fabrication

Your Opportunity:
Develop and enhance your machining expertise with support from our experienced team. We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist with a minimum of six years of experience to join our team, focusing on ship repair and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of assembly and machining tasks in a shop environment.
2. Execute repairs, modifications, and the manufacturing of new parts.
3. Operate conventional lathes, mills, Vertical Turret Lathes (VTLs), Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), grinders, and programmable machines.
4. Machine steel and alloys to precise specifications.
5. Disassemble, assemble, test, and inspect components, including shipboard valves and pumps, for functionality and precision.
6. Line bore to tight tolerances.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of six (6) years of inside machinist experience is required.
2. Precision layout, measuring, and mathematical skills to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
3. Proficiency in operating conventional lathes, mills, VTLs, HBMs, and grinders.
4. Ability to line bore holding tight tolerances.
5. Familiarity with ship repair terminology and compartment locations is preferred.
