Position Overview:
We seek a detail-oriented, outgoing, dependable Marine Tig Welder for an established Marine and Industrial Repair Company. Qualified applicants will be tested on their skill level and scheduled to be interviewed at our office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Read a tape measure
Layout Material
Fit-Up Material
Rigging
Read a blueprint/drawing/tech manual
Comprehensive Torch and Weld Work
Radius Gage
Hand Power Tools
Shop Tools/Equipment
Required Education and Experience:
Must have verifiable Tig experience.
Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to weld metals
Must have strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and able to multitask
Understand the Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal (of multiple material types) to the required specifications
Ability to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines
Must be able to work independently
Understanding of the Ship repair industry
Must be DBIDS and TWIC credential-eligible
The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe. GTAW (TIG) process is used for root pass, and 11018 electrodes are used for the weld fill portion and cap.
Working Conditions:
Open-air conditions such as noise, hot and cold, and in an office-controlled environment.
May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs on and offshore, and confined spaces. Wear hearing, eye, and head protection and proper PPE when required.
Visits may require standing on various surfaces at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.
