[Pipefitter] Immediate Pipefitter Openings in Wisconsin

NSC Technologies is currently hiring Pipefitters for shipyard work in Wisconsin.

To follow drawings and blue prints with precision in order to assemble and fabricate piping systems throughout the ship. Installation of piping systems using welding equipment, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
Ability to read drawings and fit pipe spools to drawing in field. Brazing is required, pipe testing/flushing experience a plus but not required. Jobs require fitments in a variety of materials and sizes- including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper Nickle, and Aluminum, and from 1/2" to 8" pipe. Ability to work in confined spaces, in ovhd and in tanks. The ability to read, write, and speak English is also a factor as they would be paired directly with a pipe welder and we do not currently have any bilingual or Spanish speaking pipe welders, as well as reading prints is a must for this position

Skills and Competencies/Qualifications:
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience and/or training with piping systems along with a general knowledge of blue prints and hand tools is preferred.

Major Responsibilities (Functions/Duties):
Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment. Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools. Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders. Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods. Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints. Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading. Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools. Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications. Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders; according to specifications turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
