Based on your work ethic, development and dedication to your role, with support from your local branch and job-site leadership, you will develop and strengthen your skill sets
We are seeking Pipefitter to become part of our team!
Your responsibilities will include:
• Accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine pipe layout, size and material requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes to fit the required dimensions and configurations.
• Install pipes and fittings using appropriate joining techniques like welding, brazing or threading, ensuring proper alignment and support structures.
• Identify and fix leaks, replace damaged pipes and fittings and perform routine inspections on existing piping systems.
• Test installed piping systems for leaks under pressure to guarantee functionality.
• Choose the correct pipe materials (copper, steel, aluminum, etc) based on the application and system requirements.
Requirements for this role include:
• Candidates must have at least 4 years of machinist experience.
• Must have knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items for the position and trade.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with pipe cutting tools, bending machines, threading machines, welding equipment and other relevant hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches.
