Pay Range: $17.34-$27.31/hour - Based on Experience
Per Diem: $120 per each day at least 8 hours are worked

- 2-year term with Newport News Shipyard in Newport News, Virginia
- Must be a USA citizen
- Must be able to pass a 90-day hair follicle drug test
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check

Experience:
The Marine Painter must have three (3) or more years of experience as a marine brush and roll painter applying epoxy and non-epoxy coatings. Experience is also required in accomplishing cleaning to SSPC-SP-3 and SSPC-SP-11 standards using power tools.

Certification:

Painter must be certified in accordance with NSTM Chapter 631, Section 11.5 Shipyard Blasters and Painter Certification. Painter certification is required by NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32.
SSPC QP1 Certified

Required Skills:
1. Ability to apply coatings while maintaining desired MIL thickness.
2. Experience working in a physically demanding environment; confined spaces, working at heights, and use of half-face and full-face respiratory equipment.
3. Ability to use power tools to accomplish cleaning.
**Prior to employment, all new hie candidates must pass a background check and hair follicle drug test.
