Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to read and interpret schematics. As a Shipfitter, you will be responsible for assembling and maintaining various components of ships, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and specifications. This role requires heavy lifting and the use of power tools, as well as soldering and working with sheet metal.

Duties
- Interpret and work from schematics to assemble ship components accurately.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed during assembly and installation processes.
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks.
- Solder components as required in the assembly process.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of schematics and mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
- Proficiency in using power tools and soldering equipment.
- Experience working with sheet metal is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
