Our client is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee and manage the successful execution of Thermal Power Generation projects, including Combined Cycle Power Plants, Simple Cycle Power Plants, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) ventures. This role is critical to ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality throughout all phases of project construction and operation.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Project Oversight:
Lead and manage construction teams, including subordinate superintendents, foremen, and craft workers, across multiple job sites.
Ensure projects are completed safely, on budget, on time, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Drive effective communication between project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Safety & Compliance:
Promote a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing company and regulatory safety policies.
Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and other industry standards.
Technical & Operational Excellence:
Supervise the planning, scheduling, and execution of work to maintain alignment with specifications and project milestones.
Coordinate the installation of equipment and systems specific to Combined Cycle and Simple Cycle Power Plants.
Monitor progress and provide solutions to technical challenges on-site.
Resource Management:
Manage labor forces, ensuring optimal allocation of personnel and resources throughout the project lifecycle.
Review and approve labor rates, materials, and subcontract proposals to align with operational budgets.
EPC Project Scope:
Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure seamless project delivery from design to commissioning stages.
Review and contribute to contract administration, including change order management and client negotiations.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of daily activities, progress reports, and team performance metrics.
Communicate regular updates to company leadership and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role within power generation projects.
Proven track record managing EPC projects, particularly in Combined Cycle and Simple Cycle Power Plant construction.
Strong understanding of power plant systems, project planning, and construction methodologies.
Proficiency in managing budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire teams and foster collaboration.
Working knowledge of industry codes and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
Bachelor�s degree preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
