Position Overview:
The Power Plant Mechanical Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical construction activities within a power plant setting. This role ensures that all mechanical projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to all regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical construction activities for power plant projects.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deadlines.
Liaise with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
Resource Management:
Allocate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project performance.
Monitor and control project costs, ensuring expenditures align with budgetary constraints.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all mechanical construction activities comply with safety regulations, codes, and standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards or safety issues promptly.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and standards.
Quality Assurance:
Oversee the quality of mechanical construction work, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
Conduct inspections and tests to verify that all installations meet quality and performance requirements.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients.
Prepare and present regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, issues, and changes.
Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve issues or conflicts that arise during construction activities.
Implement corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from project plans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field - or years of experience
Proven experience in mechanical construction, preferably within the power generation industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Proficient in using project management software and tools.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
