Electrical System Engineer
Immediate 8 month W2 contract position available in Bucks, AL (25 miles north of Mobile)
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is for an electrical system engineer providing technical direction and maintenance expertise to plant personnel, contractors and management.
Provide support and coordination for assigned processes (such as Maximo, Maintenance Strategy, etc.).
Develop and monitor O&M and capital budgets (current and long term) for assigned process and equipment needs.
Perform the roles and responsibilities of a System engineer while working closely with the system owner.
This position will be assigned accountability for major plant components of the generator, switchyard, and switchgear systems.
5 - 10 years� experience.
The System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems within industrial plants.
They collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plant processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure reliable operation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills):
Must have 5 years of industrial experience (power plant or paper mill experience preferred)
Thorough understanding of plant equipment, systems and operation in order to provide solutions to equipment problems that is cost effective and adequate to meet the intended needs.
Ability to analyze critical situations; determine competent solutions with implementation in a safe and effective manner.
Must have the ability to work with people to achieve organizational objectives.
Must possess effective written and oral communications skills and exhibit Southern Style behavior.
Ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long-term strategic planning skills.
Must be proficient in use of computer-based applications, understanding of the IBEW contract.
5+ years� experience in an industrial environment. Paper Mill and Power Plant experience preferred.
The System Engineer is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and maintaining complex systems within a power plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required to monitor routine operation of assigned Plant Equipment, investigate improvements of Equipment on an ongoing basis, deriving work scopes and solutions, and implement action plans.
Develop and track routine, outage and capital budgets for assigned equipment, systems, and/or processes.
Execute major maintenance or replacement activities by providing specific direction and coordination of assigned Maintenance crews and/or contractor personnel, monitoring quality, cost and adherence to contract specifications, including but not limited to OSHA and Environmental regulations.
� Analyze critical situations with plant equipment; determine competent solutions with implementation in a safe and effective manner.
Effectively utilize Maximo to review and communicate maintenance strategies, equipment issues, and Root Cause Analyses.
Establish an ongoing relationship with key vendors; gather and analyze acceptance data on new/rebuilt equipment; and stay informed of current technology.
Support the Best Practices program by developing and implementing Best Practices in a timely manner.
Must currently live within a reasonable distance or be willing to relocate.
System Design:
Develop and design control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions for plant equipment and processes.
Integration:
Integrate various subsystems (such as PLCs, SCADA, DCS) to create a cohesive and efficient plant-wide system.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to plant systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
Process Optimization:
Analyze data, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Maintenance:
Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, and preventive measures.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
Education:
Bachelor�s degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
Experience:
Prior experience in industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering.
Skills:
Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems.
Familiarity with P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams).
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
