Key Project Requirements:

��� �Ability to identify, report, and assist in diagnosing equipment issues, perform maintenance, and support plant reliability.
Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking a skilled Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a cogeneration plant in Berkeley, CA. The O&M Technician is responsible for the startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of the gas turbine generator, boilers, steam turbine generator, and balance of plant (BOP) equipment from outside the control room. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager (APM) and supporting the Lead Operator, the O&M Technician conducts routine inspections, records operating parameters, troubleshoots issues, and ensures plant operations remain within compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
��� �Safely operate gas turbine generators, boilers, steam turbine generators, and BOP systems, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
��� �Execute equipment and system startup, shutdown, and operational adjustments as directed by the Lead Operator.
��� �Identify, report, and assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions, taking corrective action under direction.
��� �Record local operating parameters, monitor plant air and water emissions, and report deviations to the Lead Operator.
��� �Adhere to plant safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, hazardous material handling, and environmental standards.
��� �Assist with equipment isolation for maintenance, perform minor maintenance, and maintain work areas in a clean, orderly condition.
��� �Respond to abnormal conditions, alarms, and plant emergencies, providing clear updates to the Lead Operator.
��� �Conduct thorough shift turnovers, review operating logs, and participate in scheduled safety meetings and training.
Job Requirements:
��� �Hands-on power plant experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers, and BOP systems, including startup, operation, and shutdown procedures.
��� �Experience with equipment isolation and tagging procedures, ensuring compliance with plant safety protocols.
��� �Ability to respond to plant abnormal situations, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate corrective actions.
��� �Strong knowledge of plant safety protocols, including hazardous materials handling, high-voltage systems, confined space entry, and OSHA compliance.
��� �Experience with electrical switching, isolation, and paralleling operations, working under the direction of the Control Room Operator.
��� �Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, blueprints, and operational procedures.
��� �Proficiency with maintenance tools and troubleshooting techniques, performing minor maintenance and equipment adjustments as needed.
��� �Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, recommend solutions, and support plant performance optimization.
��� �Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document operating conditions, provide shift handovers, and collaborate effectively with plant personnel.
��� �Solid organizational and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a high-performance operational environment.
Physical Requirements:
��� �Work in outdoor environments with exposure to extreme weather, noise, and hazardous conditions.
��� �Use of protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of high-voltage systems and hazardous materials.
��� �Ability to walk, climb, lift up to 50 lbs., and operate equipment requiring up to 100 lbs. of force.
Education / Experience:
��� �High School diploma OR Technical Institute diploma is required.
��� �Prior experience as an O&M Technician in a power generation facility required
