Substation Physical Design Engineer
Location: Moncks Corner, SC
Pay: Flexible Based on Experience
Duration: Approx 12 months or longer
Contract: W2

A substation physical design engineer designs and develops electrical substations, including engineering calculations, drafting, and procurement packages. They work on projects ranging from 12kV to 230kV.

Responsibilities
� Design and implement substation systems, including foundations, bus, switches,
and transformers
� Create detailed engineering deliverables, such as elevation, grounding, and conduit drawings
� Perform engineering calculations for manufacturing, construction, and installation
� Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
� Oversee project production to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
� Prepare engineering calculations, drafting, and procurement packages
� Work closely with other groups, including Electric Distribution Engineering, System Planning, and Marketing
� Assist in troubleshooting substation problems

Core disciplines environmental/water resources, geotechnical, and structural.

Skills and experience
� Proficiency in CAD tools
� Experience with engineering documents and drawings
� Ability to perform detailed calculations
� Ability to work under the supervision of a lead engineer
