Location: Moncks Corner, SC
Duration: Approx 12 months or longer
Contract: W2

Job Specifics:

Description:

Assists in the execution of material standards and supply chain requirements for electrical transmission and substation capital projects including: establishing material standards, reviewing and approving vendors, evaluating vendor performance, forecasting of material demands, ordering/expediting/tracking capital materials, and troubleshooting material quality issues during construction.
Also assists in developing strategies and alliance contracts with external vendors and maintains and updates our database of standard material items and approved vendors library.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
1.) PROJECT-SPECIFIC MATERIALS:
Ensures all needed materials are ordered, expedited, received and available when needed for Electrical Transmission and Substation projects. Includes:
(1) All material required for a wide range of Substation and Transmission projects including (but not limited to: power transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, relay panels, equipment enclosures, transmission structures, substation steel, disconnect switches, aluminum bus, wire, fiber, insulators, and all minor material are ordered, expedited and made available prior to the need-by date(s).
(2) Materials are being expedited and communications frequent had with various vendors and sales representatives, tracking due dates and resolving delays.
(3) Materials are being effectively received and inspected (at the factory and on-site) to ensure accordance with engineering designs and specifications for completeness and quality.
(4) Develops and maintains vendor scorecards and communicates performance with vendors.
(5) Stays up to date with material procurement lead times, is aware of incoming project demands and develops agreements and alliance contracts with material vendors and internal stakeholders as needed.

MATERIAL STANDARDS:
Ensures material standards are up-to-date and communicated to stakeholders.
Researches and identifies new technologies for potential implementation.
Ensures our Standard Material Catalog is maintained, including approved vendors, manufacturer part numbers, approved facilities, etc.
Identifies new potential vendors for review and approval.

FORECASTING:
Through coordination with Project Management and Engineering Groups, assists in the planning, preparing and forecasting of material demands over a 10 year period, and establishes schedules needed for contracts, alliances and various material orders.

Requirements:

Associate degree in materials management and seven (7) years directly related experience is required. Will consider a high school diploma with ten (10) years experience in warehousing, inventory, and materials management, with experience in multi-project environment and coordinating work with others. Experience with contracts and reconciling material issues at the completion of a project.
High school diploma/GED and 10 years of experience.
SME Clerical skills with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM, Must possess a valid SC driver's license, Must be forklift certified, Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Adobe Reader.
