Principal Engineer � GIS & Pipeline Operations

Job Overview:
4P Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Utility or Pipeline Industry. This role is responsible for leading and managing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) projects that support Transmission and Large Pipeline business units. The ideal candidate will work closely with various business units, stakeholders, and technical teams to integrate and optimize GIS processes for operational efficiency.
This position requires strong project leadership, data integration expertise, and collaboration across multiple teams to enhance GIS applications and data management in pipeline operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & GIS Implementation:
Lead and manage Large Pipeline GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
Develop and implement new GIS processes to support the integration and management of Transmission and Large Pipeline data.
Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, addressing any scope changes or challenges.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training:
Work closely with Transmission and Large Pipeline Operating business units to understand data needs and operational requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IT, engineering, operations) to seamlessly integrate GIS processes.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure effective adoption of new GIS tools and workflows.
Industry Compliance & Best Practices:
Stay current with GIS industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to pipeline operations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor�s or Master�s degree in Engineering (Master�s degree is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the Utility or Pipeline Industry.
Experience working with Transmission and Large Pipeline data and operations is highly desirable.
Technical & Leadership Skills:
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Preferred):
Professional Engineering (PE) License is a plus.
