Rates: $70.00 - $76.00
• This position is responsible for providing plant technical support, developing long term plans and budgets to maintain and improve equipment performance.
• The project engineer will manage capital and O&M projects by following prescribed procedures to develop design options and/or recommendations for system and equipment improvement initiatives.
• The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills to work with plant personnel, plant management, vendors, and a wide range of contractors to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
• Provide outage/project management, project budget management, long term maintenance strategies and technical support to the plant
• Develop 5 & 10-year capital budgets and justification for associated capital projects
• Utilize business tools to develop and justify budgets, write work orders, purchase equipment and material, develop project schedules, and monitor equipment.
• Review and analyze system equipment failures and initiate root cause analyses studies for them
• Work with the client, OEM's and system owners at other plants to stay current of any upgrades or concerns that affect the plant and communicate these needs to plant management, corporate management, and peer groups.
• Education
o B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required
o B.S. in Civil Engineering is preferred, but willing to consider other engineering disciplines
o M.S. in Business or Engineering a plus
o Professional Engineer (PE) License would also be a plus
o Experience
o A minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in an industrial facility or in support of an industrial facility with project or design focus involving the maintenance of the following types of equipment: pumps/motors, air/motor operated valves, fans, condensers, boilers, turbines, industrial electrical switchgear, circuit breakers and transformers.
o Demonstrated project management experience required
o Strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilities
o Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
o Strong organizational, administrative, time management, project management, facilitation and analytical skills are required
o Knowledge and experience with personal computers and the ability to learn numerous software applications quickly
o Self-motivation and demonstrated initiative is crucial for this position
o Ability to interface with vendors and contractors while representing the best interests of the client
o Ability to network and utilize subject matter experts at both the corporate level and regional level to support our plant systems
o Display interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to handle conflict and work effectively within a diverse team
o Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
o Flexible to work across primary position boundaries by willingly accepting multiple roles as required to support plant needs
o ADDITIONAL DETAILS
o Must be available to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
o May require some extended work hours.
o Must be able to be on-call for the plant for specified rotation frequencies, each occurrence being a week in length
o Minimal Travel required – 10%
o Required PPE: Respirator (Fit Test incl), Fall Protection, Hard Hat and Safety Eye Protection
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
