We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Outage Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating in the power industry. This candidate will have the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. As an Outage Project Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the bidding process, ensuring that our projects are competitively priced while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in negotiating contracts and collaborating with project managers to ensure successful project execution.
- This position is remote but requires 30% travel.

This position will be responsible for estimating outage work scopes mainly for inquiries related to HRSG work at combined cycle gas power plants.
Responsibilities
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Collaborate with project management teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
Utilize HeavyBid or similar software for construction estimating and cost control.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive rates.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or methods that may impact estimating practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience wit power generation is required.
- Previous HRSG outage experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations.
- Ability to work with CRM software is required (company currently uses Zoho)
- Ability to travel to be face-to-face with clients for project walk downs (30% travel)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Word and Excel
- This position is specifically responsible for supporting estimates and proposal for company and will report to the Proposal Manager
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accuracy in pricing.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
