Title:                   Auxiliary Operator
Position Type:    Contract 
Location:            Cambridge, WI
Reports to:         Plant Manager
Status:               Non-Exempt

Job Summary:  
PIC Group has a great opportunity for an experienced Auxiliary Operator at a simple-cycle dual fuel generating facility in Cambridge, WI. The Auxiliary Operator is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems, controlling routine operations, responding to alarms and abnormal conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions as directed by the Control Room Operator, and performs basic routing maintenance activities. The position executes plant shutdown and startup procedures as required and assures that the plant will meet its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Operate and monitor gas turbine systems and auxiliary equipment.
•    Perform start-up, shut-down, and routine operational procedures.
•    Continuously monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal efficiency.
•    Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on gas turbines and associated equipment.
•    Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
•    Perform repairs and replace faulty components as needed
•    Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and system performance.
•    Prepare detailed reports on operational status, maintenance activities, and any incidents or issues 
•    Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
•    Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with environmental and industry standards.
•    Participate in safety training and emergency response drills.
•    Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and other operational teams to ensure seamless operations.
•    Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about operational status and any issues.

Job Requirements:
•    Strong understanding of gas turbine systems, operations, and maintenance procedures.
•    Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
•    Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
•    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
•    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:
•    Physical demands of the position require sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, walking, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing (including stairs and ladders).
•    Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work in various environmental conditions.

Education / Experience:
•    Degree in electrical, instrument, mechanical, or power plant related field preferred
•    5+ years of with mechanical repair, electrical and control systems, combustion turbines and process control in a power generation facility 
•    Prior gas turbine experience required
