System One has a great 6 month contract opportunity for a Construction Safety Professional to provide oversight of decommissioning and site restoration activities in Memphis, TN.
1. Requires depth and breadth of safety and health experience, knowledge, and skills to deliver strategic day-to-day safety, health and related services to assigned customer base.
2. Consults with customer base, understands the business, and works with line managers to deliver strategic programs which improve efficiency, innovation, competitiveness and performance.
3. Proactive in assessing safety performance and evaluating trends and best practices.
4. Perform investigations of major events, such as serious accidents and hazardous materials incidents and provides technical direction for the development and implementation of corrective action programs.
5. Perform routine and special inspections and analysis of job and system hazards, develops recommendations to improve working environments from a safety and health standpoint, and provides field support and assistance to remote work locations for implementation of safety programs.
6. Deliver safety and health initiatives in a manner that will lead culture change throughout the organization.
7. Ensures compliance with all health and safety standards, including federal and state regulatory compliance.
8. Responsible for the development of health and safety plans including goals and objectives and for reporting performance to ensure the compliance with the plan and recommend corrective action as required.
9. Develop procedures in accordance with osha regulations and other requirements in implementing the program.
10. Develop and direct safety and health assessments as identified by the safety organization managers.
11. Serves as a lead consultant for providing general safety and health support to specific sites and/or business units.
12. Assists with the training and development of new hire and developmental safety consultants.
13. Capable of leading functional teams on special projects.
14. Ability to solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
15. May serve as safety manager in absence of same.

Ideal Background
1. Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, safety-related engineering or comparable field of study; or equivalent education, training & experience.
2. At least ten years industrial safety experience providing occupational health and safety experience which includes project management leading to practical knowledge of the theory and principles related to the administration of industrial safety and health programs, protection of facilities and human life.
3. Certification as a safety professional (CSP) or demonstration that certification will be accomplished within two years is required.
4. Demolition experience is required.
