JOB SUMMARY
"The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy�s submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project, which is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators.

DUTIES
The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations
- Review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied"
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
"- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer"
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
"- Prior experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Prior experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
- Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME)
- Prior experience with Design for Manufacturability
- Prior experience with Model Based Design
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products"
