Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Nuclear Safety Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.
Work Location: Aiken, SC

Fellow Nuclear Safety Engineer-
Duties:
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields and use other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers.
Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.

Education & Years of Experience:
An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience OR a MS degree and 12 years' experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years �experience.
Skills/Experience:
Demonstrated a minimum of 15 years of recent experience in the nuclear safety industry through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.
Demonstrated current experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, and related directives and standards.
Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work; and proficiency in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
Demonstrate current experience in the Hazard Analysis Process related to DSA/TSR development as called out in DOE orders and Standards.
Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining SRS safety basis documents.
Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience.
Other Job Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE �Q� security clearance
