Safety Analysis Engineer (Remote)
Project: Power Uprate projects
Work Location: Remote
Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Duration: Initially One Year w/ annual extensions expected
Schedule: (4) Ten Hour Days / week
Summary:
Highly experienced nuclear engineer in the area of safety analysis with a focus on system thermal hydraulics and analysis methodology. LOCA analysis experience required
Requirements:
Using expert technical knowledge and experience with the government regulator to identify and mitigate engineering design solutions and potential licensing risks.
Perform safety analysis reviews/calculations using industry-standard simulation tools such as RELAP5, RETRAN, TRACE, COBRA, VIPRE, TRAC, and/or RADTRAD.
Apply reactor thermal hydraulic concepts to support design and licensing of uprate related items.
Review and provide comments on Safety Analysis engineering work products.
Performs other duties as assigned
To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate competencies in performing the essential functions of this position by performing satisfactorily in each of these competencies.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear engineering.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years’ experience in reactor thermal hydraulics and/or safety analysis. An advanced degree in engineering may be substituted for 1 year work experience.
