Civil Superintendent � Thermal Power Generation Projects
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee and manage civil construction activities for a thermal power generation project. This role will focus on simple cycle and combined cycle power plant projects, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications. Acting as a key representative for the EPC supporting the project owner, the Civil Superintendent will play a critical role in driving project success through coordination, leadership, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Civil Construction Oversight:
Provide on-site supervision for activities such as earthwork, site grading, drainage systems, foundations, concrete installations, underground utilities, and structural assembly.
Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and applicable safety standards.
Project Coordination and Planning:
Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers to develop execution plans that meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.
Monitor daily progress, address on-site issues, and maintain continuity of construction operations.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team to perform inspections, verify quality documentation, and resolve discrepancies.
Resource and Equipment Management:
Monitor and manage workforce, materials, equipment, and tools to ensure optimal utilization.
Plan for resource needs and maintain open communication with suppliers and procurement departments for timely material delivery.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records, including daily progress logs, safety reports, material tracking, and subcontractor performance metrics.
Develop comprehensive punch lists upon project completion, coordinating resolution of any outstanding issues.
Leadership and Training:
Provide guidance and mentorship to on-site teams, promoting a collaborative culture focused on excellence and accountability.
Train and support crews in best practices for civil construction related to thermal power projects.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Bachelor�s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Equivalent work experience will be considered in place of formal education.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 6�8 years of experience in civil construction. Power or Industrial
Demonstrated expertise in simple and combined cycle power plant construction is highly preferred.
Proven track record of managing subcontractors and ensuring adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with specialized equipment and methods used in civil works.
Knowledge of testing and quality control techniques for materials such as concrete and soil compaction.
Interpersonal and Leadership Abilities:
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Confident decision-maker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to foster teamwork among diverse groups of professionals.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel and relocate as required by project needs.
Commitment to adhering strictly to safety procedures and promoting a safety-first mindset on-site.
