Education & Experience:
Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience. OR A MS with 8+ years' experience. OR A BS with 10+ years' experience or more.
Top Skills & Years of Experience:
- Candidate must demonstrate ten (10) years recent design experience, four (4) of which shall be in the following area of expertise: Special Hazard Systems/Water-Based Suppression Systems Design.
- Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards, and National Consensus Codes and Standards such as NFPA 13, NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 90A, NFPA 101, IBC, and various other ISA and IEEE
standards.
- Experience with 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)
- Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office Applications.
- Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed.
Nice to Have:
- Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
- Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience.
- Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software.
- Previous SRS design experience and familiarity with the processes and procedures for providing engineering support to SRS facilities.
