Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Industrial Hygienist (IH) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site (SRS).

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Industrial Hygienist (IH)-

The Industrial Hygienist (IH) will provide field support for the Industrial Hygiene Program by ensuring implementation of 10 CFR 851, Worker Safety and Health Program requirements with respect to exposures during the execution of work activities on the project.

Job Duties:
Perform field industrial hygiene evaluations (e.g. stress, silica, noise).
Demonstrate a sound base of technical knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, standards, concepts, practices, principles, and techniques.
Experience with developing sampling plans and conducting occupational exposure sampling and monitoring within a construction environment.
Ability to establish controls for hazards of concern.
Technical responsibility for implementation of an Industrial Hygiene (IH) Program within demolition or construction project.
Cooperate with client’s industrial hygienists performing related phases of the program.
Apply technical knowledge toward the reduction of costs and improvement of the processes where possible while maintaining a safe work environment.

Perform worker exposure assessments for chemical and physical hazards.
Prepare technical reports, activity hazard analyst (AHA), and procedures.
Communicate issues and results with employees and management in a professional manner.

Education/Yrs. Of Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience providing industrial hygiene support to projects through all phases of construction and demolition.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior industrial hygiene experience at a DOE site
CIH, OHST, CHST, CHMM, or CSP

Other Job Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance. (an active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
