Job Description: Senior Electrical Engineer
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Tatum, TX near Longview, TX
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power systems within power plants to join our team for a 6-month contract in Tatum, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and design, field experience, and a proven track record in fast-paced, emergency-response environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues within power plant systems, ensuring reliability and safety.
Design, review, and update electrical wiring systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
Provide technical support during startup and shutdown operations, optimizing processes and mitigating risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement emergency fixes and system upgrades in a timely manner.
Conduct field inspections, testing, and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Lead efforts to improve system reliability and efficiency through innovative solutions and best practices.
Document engineering activities, including system modifications, repair strategies, and compliance reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the power plant industry, with a focus on power systems.
Proficient in electrical wiring design, schematic development, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on field experience, with a preference for candidates experienced in startup and shutdown operations.
Ability to thrive in an emergency, “fix-it-now” environment, demonstrating quick decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, OSHA).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and software for electrical systems analysis.
Experience with high-voltage systems and switchgear.
Work Environment:
Field-based role requiring the ability to work in challenging conditions.
Flexibility to respond to emergencies and adapt to evolving project demands.
