We are seeking a SENIOR ENGINEER for GROUNDWATER FLOW and CONTAMINANT TRANSPORT with the following qualifications:
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:
Assistance completing groundwater flow and contaminant transport models, along with final report preparation, at Fernald and Gunnison.
Assistance at the Fernald site will also include help with the preparation of an annual site environmental report and technical advice in coordination with other RSI employees.
The need at Monticello is expert advice and knowledge of site groundwater flow and contaminant transport conditions to adequately support site needs when addressing current and future site conditions.
At the Monument Valley site, staff augmentation will assist RSI modelers to develop a new groundwater flow and contaminant transport model for the site.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Masters Degree in geology, hydrogeology, or hydrology engineering.
Experience/Skills:
10 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of LM sites and programmatic history preferred.
General field characterization experience
Working knowledge of well drilling, coring/sampling, and monitoring well installation.
Data acquisition and evaluation experience.
Understanding of tracer testing implementation and interpretation.
Working knowledge of aquifer testing and analysis.
Experience with conceptual site model development.
Knowledge of numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling.
Understanding of statistics and geo-statistics.
Knowledge of parameter estimation and Iterative Ensemble Smoother calibration.
Knowledge of three-dimensional visualization and evaluation.
Knowledge of programing and scripting.
Knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and geophysics.
Familiarity with remedial design and evaluation.
Knowledge of regulations and standards.
Knowledge of integrated work control process, readiness review, health and safety and field project closeout.
Knowledge of groundwater flow and contaminant transport fundamentals
