We are seeking qualified candidates to perform the following:
FPE will be responsible for performing fire protection engineering tasks as directed by the client Project Manager in compliance with HLMI-PLN-FP-51082, Fire Protection Program, which includes both internal HLMI procedures and standards and external codes and standards. Subcontractor shall independently identify applicable fire protection requirements, perform walkdowns at facility location(s) and review or develop fire protection deliverables per the scope of work. In all tasks, technical documents shall be submitted directly to the Fire Protection Program Manager for review and release.
The FPE tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Attend Construction Pre-Job briefings
- Review/approve work packages
- Review drawings/Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)/submittals as needed to support construction activities
- Impairment Analysis, including recommendations for compensatory measures
- Create/Review/Support Hanford Fire Marshal Permits
- Operate the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) as directed by the Fire Protection Program Manager in support of construction activities associated with the fire flush
- Construction inspections
- Fire Protection System Acceptance Test Support (flush and turnover testing, new sprinkler head testing, additional testing support for this activity).
- Review and provide design review comments at up to three (3) design intervals (30/60/90 or 30/90 or 45/90).
- Approve design in Smart Plant Foundation
Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor of Science in an engineering or related technical field; and:
Meet the qualifications for Member Grade in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, or
- Possess a Professional Member Grade in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, or
- Be a Registered Professional Fire Protection Engineer, or
- Be previously qualified as a Fire Protection Engineer under a DOE Hanford contractor approved fire protection engineer training program.
