Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Construction Discipline Engineer (CDE)/Civil Field Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Construction Discipline Engineer (CDE)/Civil Field Engineer-
The Construction Discipline Engineer/Civil Field Engineer will be responsible for: Planning and technical oversight of field construction activities within a specified discipline associated with procurement, fabrication, installation, modification and maintenance of systems and components; Coordinating with Design agencies to ensure timely issuance of new designs or design changes; Walking-down and reviewing designs for constructability, resolve design problems encountered in the field during construction and meet with and discuss solutions with Design Engineers. Inspecting/verifying materials, equipment, and construction workmanship and assures compliance with drawings, specifications and code requirements; Coordinating with Quality Control to ensure the installation meets the requirements; Participating in turnover activities; Supporting/participating in start-up and functional check out of equipment and systems; Understanding Construction Engineering principles and ability to apply these principles to field conditions; Experienced in the preparation of computer-based construction work execution plans (Work Packages) including job specific hazards analysis, i.e. Asset Suite and Assisted Hazard Analysis or equivalent.
Experience/Skills:
Experienced with excavation, shoring, rigging calculations and development of ordinary and critical lift packages.
Experience with structural steel fabrication and erection
Experienced with concrete placement
Previous experience with generating work execution plans (preferably utilizing the Asset Suite work control system).
Previous experience with generating job hazards analysis.
Previous experience performing material take off and procurement.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least five (5) years of practical experience in civil construction field engineering OR Associate's degree in civil engineering and five to ten (5-10) years of practical experience in civil construction engineering OR High school diploma and ten plus (10+) years of practical experience in civil construction engineering.
Other Job Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen
Familiar with National codes and standards (i.e. AISC, ACI) and possess the ability to interpret and analyze these requirements to determine equivalent means of achieving compliance when necessary.
Capable of climbing/spending extended periods of time in the field.
Capable of obtaining qualifications to work in radiation/contamination areas.
