Work Control Planner - Senior

SUMMARY:
Develop and/or review large and complex work packages, including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety, and testing requirements for implementing and controlling operations, maintenance, or modifying work activities within a given area. May include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological,
and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, resolving work package restraints, and bringing work packages to final closure.
Duties may include:
Prepare, review, and issue large and/or complex equipment and/or system modification work packages.
Review the understanding and interpretation of various engineering, design, technical, and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, documents, diagrams, and specifications to ensure the design information is sufficient to develop modifications for electrical/mechanical systems.
Development may also include a physical walk down of the area or system to identify potentially hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies.
Provide technical reviews of work control packages for quality and consistency and work guidance and instruction to other work control personnel in the lead or coordinating capacity.
Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.
Prepare, review, and issue corrective maintenance work packages.
Develop and issue preventive maintenance records and work packages.
Discuss interface problems and concerns related to work control/work package activity with site organizations.
Provide technical advice regarding maintenance and work control to facility management or work control personnel in several potential specialty areas, either in an engineering or subject matter expert capacity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a non-technical discipline and at least 4-5 years of practical experience in work control, materials management, E&I / mechanical maintenance, or related areas.
OR A
Associate's degree in a technical or mechanical area and at least 8 years of practical experience are equivalent.
OR A
A high school diploma and at least 10-12 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.
Requires a comprehensive understanding of site work control procedures, work practices, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control, and procedures for maintenance and operations-related areas.
It is essential to be able to coordinate teamwork, set and meet goals and objectives, and prioritize work.
A working knowledge of DOE, federal and state regulations, and existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures is required.
Understanding and interpreting various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required.
Utilizing and manipulating a computerized work management system is required to maintain and track work planning activities.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" security clearance.
Previous SRS or DOE facility experience (preferred)
