Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and provide programmatic and daily direction to the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
psychological assessment staff. Provide mental health services in support of management and employees. The ultimate goal is to ensure both management and employees that each employee is mentally and psychologically capable of performing his or her duties safely and securely. Offer professional opinions as to the reliability of individual persons to deal with the security and safeguards required by the HRP.
Perform psychological evaluations and clinical interviews as prescribed by the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
Perform clinical interviews, perform psychological testing, analyze data and offer opinions as to the reliability of personnel via the Human Reliability Program.
Not all employees will be included with the Human Reliability Program.
Incumbent will be required to, within more general workforce population, determine the overall
psychological fitness for duty.
Incumbent is required to establish, maintain, improve and administer programs, practices and policies related to the psychological aspects of HRP. This will include, on occasion, consultation with middle or senior management concerning employees proposed to or actually participating in HRP.
As a Clinical Psychologist, it may be necessary to interact with community mental health practitioners.
Perform other duties consistent with the psychological and medical profession as assigned.
Work Hours: A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
Education
Education: Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from a training program approved by the American Psychological Association
Experience/Skills
Eight years of experience as a practicing psychologist, at least five of which occurred
immediately prior to being hired for this position. Two years experience in establishing or improving or maintaining or overseeing an audit-able administrative program similar to the Human Reliability Program. Experience in establishing, improving, maintaining, or overseeing an auditable administrative program similar to the Human Reliability Program.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Incumbent must be licensed to practice psychology in the state of South Carolina. If, at the time of hire he/ she is licensed in another state as a practicing psychologist, the SC license must be attained within nine months of being hired.
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a recent practicing psychologist is desirable.
