site? We are looking for candidates that are multi-talented and able to accomplish
operational objectives supporting our environmental, safety, health (ESH) and security
programs on the Idaho Cleanup Project related to NRC Licensed Facility management and
operations.
Typical job responsibilities include performance and oversight of work activities to ensure
safe and compliant completion. Perform safety reviews, assessments and evaluations, and
oversight of activities. May assist management in safety design reviews and
testing/verification, as well as safety support. Additional responsibilities may include
performing Facility Security Officer duties or being able to serve in that capacity.
Requirements/Specifications
· Baccalaureate in an Engineering or Physical Science Field
· 5 years of supervisory experience in radiation protection for nuclear facility
operations.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum DOE “L” or “Q” security clearance.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to discuss issues with senior staff members, DOE senior management and NRC staff. · Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office
Major Responsibilities/Scope of Work
· Under minimal supervision, applies safety requirements, techniques, procedures and criteria to assigned projects.
· Supports maintenance and construction activities and assists supervision, contractors, craftsmen and foremen with ESH -related issues.
· Recommends solutions to ESH issues.
· Ensures staffing levels of supervised personnel are maintained in a safe manner to allow safe execution of work scope at all times.
· Implements Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), Environmental Management System, Worker Safety and Health Program, Emergency Management, Safety and Security requirements as defined by procedures and in accordance with NRC licenses.
· Teaches and instructs other employees on ESH methods and performance expectations.
· Assists in assembly of work packages and performs reviews to ensure implementation of ESH requirements.
· Manages secure room and security assets in accordance with DOE and NRC requirements.
· Writes and edits plans and procedures in accordance with rules and regulations.
· Familiarity and experience with 10 CFR 72 and 73 requirements, quality assurance, radiation safety, physical security, information security, NRC reporting requirements desired.
· Performs Facility Security Officer (FSO) responsibilities for Willow Creek Building (WBC) Vault Type Room (VTR) WCB-240D to include management of classified material repositories and associated combinations, personnel access, and general maintenance of the room.
· Performs FSO responsibilities for the Three Mile Island Unit 2 (TMI-2) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
· Interpret and follow a wide variety of guidelines, policies, laws, and established procedures to accomplish complex tasks.
· Exercise discretion and sound judgment in performing work and recommend improvements to processes.
· Identify and resolve a wide variety of complex assignments. · Use independent judgement to provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
