Airswift is currently seeking an experienced Safety Specialist with a background in the nuclear industry to support a project on the East Coast.
We are looking for a qualified Safety Professional who can evaluate the safety protocols in place at various job sites, organize safety training for employees, and report any issues to management. The ideal candidate will have experience in nuclear construction and an understanding of the safety challenges associated with construction sites. This role involves significant fieldwork (50%). The selected individual must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule, as the job may require climbing ladders. Responsibilities include preparing for Project Readiness Reviews, including outage safety plans.
**Safety Professional Skills:**
- **6+ years of experience** in the nuclear industry, including successful completion of the Nuclear Background Assessment and badging requirements.
- Knowledge of **OSHA 10 & OSHA 30** and **EPA standards** related to nuclear safety.
- Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.
- Proficiency in **Microsoft Office Suite** and technical writing.
- Effective communication skills to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to evaluate new or innovative tools and processes to minimize safety risks.
**Safety Professional Responsibilities:**
- Conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, and materials at job sites.
- Evaluate, assess, and modify safety procedures as necessary.
