Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking an Estimator to support our Nationwide Projects Team.

Office location will be in Oak Ridge, TN

This position is an opportunity for professional development and growth in a DOE subcontractor construction project office. This is a full time position with the following job scope:

Job Summary:
In this position, you will be responsible for surveying RFP’s, estimating labor and materials costs, takeoff of quantities and materials from drawings for civil, mechanical and electrical and developing financial cost and project timelines for proposals. You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects from a bird's-eye and a detailed view to develop cost estimates for bids and change orders for existing projects.

Candidate must have construction experience in industrial, Commercial Nuclear, and/or Department of Energy (DOE) projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, material costs and any ancillary costs associated with the project.
Read drawings and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
Develop Bill of Materials
Develop man loadings for craft and non-manual positions
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
Present estimates to management to meet RFP Timelines
Recommend cost-reduction options
Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, vendor proposals, and project completion documentation
Conduct complex risk analysis activities
Create and present reports to upper management
Analyze and evaluate offers
Review and recommend estimating software
Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendors

Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree engineering, construction science or similar relevant field preferred.
Previous working experience as a construction estimator for 5 years
In depth experience with computer programs such as Excel, Visio, Hard Dollar, Timberline, WinEst or similar estimating software
In-depth knowledge of project or construction management
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication and computer skills
Critical-thinker and problem-solver with ability to work to tight timelines
Ability to operate independently or with a crew
Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
