The role of the Labor Relations is to develop and implement labor policies and goals. Negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements with the union. Advise management on labor relations issues and strategies. Handle grievance procedures and dispute resolution involving employees, management, unions, and other parties. Maintain positive working relationships among all stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
Collective bargaining agreements experience
Strong conflict resolution abilities
Ability to build positive relationships between craft/management and the labor unions.
Generates and issues disciplines up to and including termination based on the employee work rulebook and labor agreement.
Generate investigative reports and maintain confidentiality.
Mediate disputes and address employee grievances
Create proper literature for employees to quickly report any concerns.
Ensure that all sites are free of harassment, intimidation, retaliation, and discrimination.
Completing investigations promptly following any concerns per the expectation set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Provides timely feedback to the concerned individuals per the expectation set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Requirements
Are competent in using MS Office Suite, any online estimating software and any proprietary accounting software programs.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Self-starter who can develop innovative solutions with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail.
At least 10 years of functional experience in the industry
Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Is able to multitask effectively and efficiently.
Strong interpersonal skills, as these enable him/her to work efficiently and effectively with other professionals.

Physical Demands
The Labor Relations must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms, and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering, and feeling.
This is an onsite position. The project is located in Covert Michigan. Attendance in the monthly tripartite meeting is required, which is conducted in Schoolcraft Michigan, south of Kalamazoo. Per diem plus travel in and out are included in the offer.
