Work Control Planner - Senior

SUMMARY:
Develop and/or review large and complex work packages, including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety, and testing requirements for implementing and controlling operations, maintenance or modification work activities within a given area. It may include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological, and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, and/or resolving work package restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.
Prepare, review, and issue large and/or complex equipment and/or system modification work packages.
Review understanding and interpretation of various engineering, design, technical and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, documents, diagrams, and specifications to ensure design information sufficient to develop modifications for electrical/mechanical systems.
Development may also include a physical walkdown of the area or system to identify potentially hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies.
Provide a technical review of the work control package for quality and consistency, as well as work guidance and instruction to other work control personnel in a lead or coordinating capacity.
Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.
Prepare, review, and issue corrective maintenance work packages.
Develop and issue preventive maintenance records and work packages
Discuss interface problems and concerns related to work control/work package activity with site organizations.
Provide technical advice regarding maintenance and work control to facility management or work control personnel in several potential specialty areas, either in an engineering or subject matter expert capacity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Candidate must meet at least one of the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in a non-technical discipline and at least 4-5 years of practical experience in work control, materials management, E&I / mechanical maintenance, or related areas.
2. An associate's degree in a technical or mechanical area and at least 8 years of practical experience is equivalent.
3. A high school diploma and at least 10-12 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.
Proven ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required.
A working knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations as well as existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures, is required
Requires a comprehensive understanding of site work control procedures and work practices, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control and procedures for maintenance and operations-related areas.
Previous SRS site experience (Preferred)
