MATRIX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Outage/Turnaround Scheduler to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in planning and scheduling outage / turnaround activities, ensuring the successful execution of complex maintenance activities. You will work closely with owner and vendor organizations, monitor work activities, identify potential schedule conflicts, and promptly notify management of any scheduling discrepancies. You will also be responsible for developing mobilization curves and histograms to compare planned resource needs to actual personnel availability.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in outage/turnaround scheduling, project controls, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
After a period of several weeks on site to work with the team and develop the baseline schedule, a hybrid work schedule can be considered. Work on site with outage hours will be required during the shutdown from April +30 to 40 days. Candidates will need to be skilled in combining project schedules into outage master schedules without loss of data or continuity.

Responsibilities:
Outage/Turnaround Planning and Scheduling:
Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive schedules for outages / turnarounds using industry-standard scheduling tools.
Collaborate with maintenance and project teams to define scope, objectives, and key deliverables.
Critical Path Analysis:
Conduct critical path analysis to identify key milestones, potential risks, and optimization opportunities.
Provide recommendations for schedule adjustments and risk mitigation strategies.
Resource Allocation:
Work closely with resource managers to allocate personnel and equipment effectively.
Monitor resource utilization and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Schedule Integration:
Integrate outage/turnaround schedules with broader maintenance and project timelines.
Ensure alignment with dependencies and interdependencies across the organization.
Baseline Development:
Develop and maintain schedule baselines to track progress and manage changes.
Implement change control processes to address schedule adjustments.
Performance Monitoring:
Track schedule performance against baselines and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide regular reports on schedule variance and recommend corrective actions.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate schedule status and updates to stakeholders, teams, and leadership.
Facilitate discussions related to scheduling and timeline adjustments.
Risk Management:
Identify schedule-related risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve scheduling challenges in coordination with project teams.
Quality Assurance:
Implement best practices for schedule development and maintenance.
Conduct audits to ensure schedule quality and adherence to standards.
Required Skills:
Expertise in Primavera P6 with advanced proficiency in outage and turnaround scheduling.
Strong critical path analysis skills to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
Experience with resource allocation and leveling in complex maintenance environments.
Advanced knowledge of change control processes and schedule integration.
Proficient in generating variance reports and providing actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills for conveying schedule information to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize schedules.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Work experience in place of formal education will be considered.
Minimum of 10-years outage scheduling experience, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and scope.
Experience in mechanical and piping work is required.
Previous refinery or similar experience is desired.
Advanced experience with developing and overseeing project schedules, cost impact analysis, and project management process.
Deep proficiency with Primavera P6
