[System Engineer] System Design Engineer- Fluid Systems

Role Overview:
Reporting to the System Design Manager, the System Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and engineering oversight of fluid systems. From concept development to commissioning, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and fault tolerance of our client's fluid systems, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.

Responsibilities:

• Designing reliable and fault-tolerant fluid systems, from requirements development to final design and commissioning.
• Conducting technical trade studies to refine system design and make informed decisions.
• Developing maintenance plans and in-service inspection/test plans for system hardware.
• Overseeing system construction planning and execution, including test and startup phases.
• Reviewing supplier work to ensure compliance with requirements and minimize integration issues.
• Supporting design reviews and authoring system-level operational narratives.
• Generating technical design documents and coordinating design packages.
• Collaborating with various design disciplines to develop system criteria and performance standards.
• Proposing and overseeing testing programs for system development and qualification.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills.
• Proficiency in reading and drawing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Strong understanding of design codes such as ASME, BPVC, and API.
• Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety classifications, piping design, and fault detection.
• Working knowledge of quality standards such as ASME NQA-1, AS 9100, or ISO 9001.
• Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
