Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for future Work Planner opportunities in Lemont, IL.

Work Planner

Work Planner personnel will plan and direct project activities including but not limited to:
Functions independently, with limited supervision, to develop, implement, and track to completion various work plans, such as CH-TRU and RH-TRU waste handling or decontamination and demolition related projects.
Develop work packages, job plans, work permits and/or procedures.
This individual will need to be able to work independently and interact with various subject matter experts (e.g., NWM staff, mechanics and technicians, health physicists, hosting and rigging experts, etc.) to solicit and obtain work permit approvals (e.g., RWPs, lift plans, etc.) as needed to support project activities.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
The ability to develop work packages and job hazard analysis for low to high hazard type tasks such as repair of equipment, size reduction, decontamination, hazardous waste activities (bulking chemicals), maintenance activities in a variety of environments (e.g., nuclear or radiological facilities, outside).
Organization and project management skills and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and to achieve desired goals with required timeframes and within projected budgets.
Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts within various engineering disciplines/specialties and varying levels of technical expertise and to achieve assigned goals for compliant operations.
Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, NEPA, and Laboratory safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge and skills within one or more engineering disciplines, i.e., electrical, mechanical, structural, nuclear/reactor, etc.
Ability to work both individually or as part of a cross functional team to achieve goals.
Knowledge of nuclear facilities and their operations, PAAA and ORPS requirements, radiological protection and waste management’s practices and requirements.

General Qualifications:
Qualified personnel shall have a strong knowledge of and technical implementation skills in their discipline area.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to use a personal computer (including standard office software applications and material/waste tracking databases) are required.
When required, personnel shall have field experience working in areas where radiological and chemical materials/wastes are used and around heavy equipment.
