Looking for multiple HFE Engineers for both User Interface Design and Procedures Writing within Surry Power Nuclear station. Aggressively hiring, NEED HFE experience and comfortable working on contract long-term.

Location: Surry Power Station
Hybrid work schedule offered for both: either 3 of 4 days/week on-site or 3 of 4 weeks/month on-site.
Duration: 1 year
Hours: M-F; 40hrs
Per Diem: $100/day – up to $700/week
Pay: Flexible

Overview:

A Human Factors Engineer is needed to support the major Digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) modernization program for Dominion Energy’s Surry and North Anna Nuclear Power Stations. The Digital I&C project is a 10+ year effort as part of Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) to upgrade safety and non-safety-related analog systems to digital and transform the main control room to flat panel displays and controls. This role works with a cross-functional team of Human Factors Engineering (HFE) peers, design engineers, station stakeholders, and project leads to evaluate changes to the main control room and other areas of the facility and how the operator interacts with the new digital control systems.

Top Required Skills
Must have prior experience with or participation in Human Factors Engineering reviews of main control room changes
Must haveprior experience with nuclear operational procedure preparation, review and approval using a computerized procedure delivery and execution system
Familiarity with Emerson Ovation Hardware/Software and AC160(Common Q) Hardware/Software
Familiarity with computerized procedure management systems, Vision database system experience preferred
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products including Teams, Excel and Visio and Adobe Pro
Nice to Have Skills:
Familiarity with Westinghouse PWR 3 Loop nuclear power plant operations is preferred
Familiarity with FrameMaker 11 publishing software is preferred
Contributions
Provides knowledge of operational tasks and procedure formats, especially as presented in emergency procedure guidelines, abnormal operating procedures and operational procedures for current and predecessor PWR nuclear power generating stations
Participates in developing scenarios for HFE evaluations, task analyses, HSI tests and evaluations, validation, and other evaluations
Reviews Engineering Change packages for modifications impacting operational tasks
Provides input for development of emergency operating procedures, abnormal operating procedures and normal operating procedures, procedure aids, computer-based procedures, and simulator training systems
Provides input to and coordinates with Site Procedures Group and Operations on procedure changes required for phased Main Control Room (MCR) digital modernization
Coordinate procedure issues arising from activities, such as HFE evaluations, HSI design, and procedure design with the procedures program

Preferred Years of Experience:
20 years of relevant nuclear power plant operations experience is preferred
10 years of relevant experience in nuclear power plant operations procedure development and maintenance
Active or previous reactor operator license or senior reactor operator license is preferred
Education:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experience is preferred
Industry Experience
Candidate should have prior experience in the nuclear industry or defense/aviation industry
