Airswift is seeking an Associate Buyer professional to work with our key client in Southport, NC for a long term contract.
This position reports to the Manager- Nuclear Planning and Integration. The Associate Buyer will work with the Work Integration, Project Management, Projects Controls, Implementation, Engineering, Contract Management, and Supply Chain organizations to ensure material and procurement needs are met for the Nuclear Projects organization. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides procurement services such as but not limited to expediting (managing and maintaining purchase orders and/or contracts with vendors), material transfers, logistic issues, support resolution to projected delivery dates and statuses.
Provides feedback to the business unit on procurement process, sourcing options, materials management strategies including transfers, cost controls, and avoidance of procurement issues.
Ensures compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations and Duke Energy business standards.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Requires knowledge in craft areas such as electrical, I&C, mechanical, civil.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to function effectively in a diverse support organization.
Technical acuity to aid in the understanding of the more complex items to be purchased.
Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and proven desire to learn.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong multitasking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
10+ years nuclear plant experience.
Experience with Duke Energy procurement processes including Nuclear Asset Suite.
Working knowledge of standard office software and work management systems, (NAS, Microsoft Reporting Services, Office, Word, Excel, Access, etc).
Working conditions: Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a Nuclear Power facility.
