Client is looking for a Principal Engineer / Mechanical Process Engineer.

Education & Experience:
BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Top Skills & Years of Experience:
Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry
Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities and 5 years in a nuclear industry/facility
Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas:
Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.

Nice to Have:
Previous CLIENT Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of CLIENT design processes and procedures are preferred
Interview Process: Phone call and or teams if preferred

PF-81 Evaluation Criteria:
Price and Cost to Company: 20%
Technical Acceptability: 70%
Additional Criteria- 10%--Previous CLIENT Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of CLIENT design processes and procedures. Possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two years.

Duration of the Contract:
ONE ( 1 ) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO ( 2 ) ADDITIONAL ONE ( 1 ) YEAR OPTION YEARS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ATTACHED
JOB DESCRIPTION.
Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Yearly options will automatically include a 3.5% escalation.

Estimates Hours Per Year: 2,000 ST / 800 OT
Anticipated Work Schedule: M-Thurs 10 hr shift with 30-minute lunch (unpaid)

Onsite or Remote? Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. 100% onsite

Additional details:
Travel will be reimbursed per the terms of the Travel Compensation Schedule CLIENT-MS-2008-00024 Rev 20. If allowed to travel on official CLIENT business, travel must be fully approved by hiring manager 30 days prior to travel dates. Please remember, Rates are fully burdened and should include all costs outside of Business Travel.
Teleworking, if applicable, is approved at the hiring manager’s discretion and can be revoked at any time. The subcontractor’s Primary Duty Station is CLIENT when on a telework agreement. 100% remote work from an alternate duty station via teleworking will require Office of the President approval and guidance from Human Resource 5B Manual Section 2-18. Be advised, trips to and from Client Site will NOT be reimbursable expense.

DUTIES
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to CLIENT. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to:
Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
Engineering services shall be provided using CLIENT processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by CLIENT.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk-downs of the job site for engineering work being performed.
These walk-downs may involve constructions sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing, and environments where a respirator is required.
Previous CLIENT Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of CLIENT design processes and procedures are preferred.
