Title: Design Engineer
Location: Covert MI
Length: 6 month minimum with potential for 1 year or more.
Pay rate: $65.00-$85.00 an hour based off experiance.
Per diem: 7 days per week at $171/day ($64/day for food and $107/day for lodging) and mobilization and demobilization of $500 each.

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group, we are seeking Mid-Level and Senior level Engineers. This is a Full-Time, Contract position working on site at Palisades Nuclear Plant (Covert, MI). This position can be one of multiple disciplines including Mechanical, Civil Structural, Electrical or Instrumentation & Controls (I & C).

Responsibilities

This is a challenging opportunity to analyze, troubleshoot and solve various complex Mechanical, Civil and/or Structural, Electrical, and I & C engineering issues in the power industry. The individual selected for this position will remain focus on the economy, safety, reliability, quality, operability, and maintainability of the engineering being provided.

*Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.

*Develop Equipment calculations and designs.

*Support of engineering design and analysis projects for the power industry

*Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts. This will include reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations

*Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design modification packages

*Develop specifications of structural, mechanical and electrical components

*Perform site walk-downs to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions

*Perform discipline specific analyses (e.g., static equivalent and dynamic analysis of structures for seismic loads, pipe support, electrical distribution, short circuit, thermal hydraulic heat transfer, etc..)

*Gain familiarity with and application of industry codes and government regulations

*Interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices

Required Qualifications / skills

*B.S. in Engineering from an accredited university in one of the following disciplines- Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

*Minimum 3 years of power system design experience

*Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of calculations is desired

*Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software

*Proficient in Word and Excel

*Familiar with discipline applicable codes and standards

*Good writing, presentation, and communication skills

*Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
