Mechanical Analysis and Methods Engineer

Talascend is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Mechanical Analysis and Methods Engineer position located in Bellevue, WA.

Responsibilities:
Develop analysis methods for predicting mechanical behavior of sodium fast reactor core system and components and document in methodology reports
Conduct mechanical analysis of reactor core and core assembly behavior using finite element methods and write formal calculation reports
Develop software for automating analysis methods and generating finite element models
Write software tests, documentation, and support software quality assurance activities
Support planning and design of testing campaigns for validation of analysis methods
Conduct analysis for benchmarking test data and validating analysis methods

Key Qualifications and Skills:
B.S. or Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
0-3 years professional mechanical analysis experience using hand calculations and finite element methods
Strong understanding of solid mechanics and finite element methods
Strong coding skills, with a preference for object-oriented programming using Python. Preference will be given to candidates who are also proficient with C++
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork
Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
