Communications Engineer

Job Description
Responsibilities:
· Plan, organize, and coordinate electrical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup
· Execute tasks associated with the preparation, modification, and review of all types of communication system design/construction drawings, including microwave, telephone data, system control and data acquisition (SCADA), mobile radio, fire alarm, microwave radio, security and video
· Properly interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks
· Prepare studies, analyses, and reports as required. Prepare engineering cost and schedules estimates. Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications
· Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required

Basic Job Requirements
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar accredited engineering B.S. with a minimum of 10 or more years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering
· Must have to communications engineering design. a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable
