[Electrical Engineer] Electrical Field Engineers - DOE

1 year+ supporting the DOE Uranium Processing Facility (UFP) construction at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. $75-90/hr , time and a half for overtime. $100/day per diem, mob/demob provided.

Summary:
UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations replacing a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings. Responsibilities include ensuring assigned UPF Electrical based commodities are installed in compliance with quality standards, design specifications, nuclear codes and standards (including NFPA 70-2014).

Requirements:
• US citizenship, ability to obtain a security clearance and pass drug test and background check.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering or similar from an accredited program and 6 years of experience. In lieu of degree, 12 years of related experience.
• Be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs (extensive walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms or uneven surfaces, confined spaces).
• Experience of DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required.
Working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as NFPA 70-2014, NQA-1 requirements.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects.
• Recent experience as an Electrical Field Engineer.

Responsibilities:
Interface with client personnel (DOE), Plant Ops, Subcontractors.
• Review design documents for constructability; Material takeoffs.
• Direct preparation/initiate requisitions for quantity listings of material and equipment.
• Prepare work packages; Ensure preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
• Monitor equipment install, plan for delivery of construction materials and equipment.
• Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise onsite.
• Review as assigned the preparation of construction estimates, cost, schedules, and budgets.
• Determine that vendors' bids for material and/or equipment are in conformance to specifications.
• Review project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
